The electronics industry has demonstrated the ability to significantly reduce the size, density, and energy consumption of electronic equipment to process and store data at incredible speed.
Here’s an illustration of how far we’ve come in making the quantum leap from copper wires (which transmitted telephone communications) to fiber optics (that now enable data to be processed at unheard of speeds).
